Thanks for the tips....knowing my lack of language skills it will take a while to say hello and thanks correctly but I will try. We think of you both especially passing many Umporn guest houses or restaurants!
We have sorted an Oz visa for Li and thus Sydney not so far away.....but yes....very tempting to ride on forever! Unfortunately money is slowly dwindling and fortunately, family beacons.

Oh, you both feel so weirdly closer to good old Sydney. At this point are you tempted to peddle on forever? Think up some scheme to make money and live in tropical Asia? Umporn was born in Thailand, it's a treat to go there with him, but everything takes AGES as they've seen gazillions of boring tourists like me b4 but a Thai speaking Asian guy....woo hoo! Natch we both find the sleaze so very sad. We were in Burma in November. Kiang Tong (also called Keng Tung as they do) was the highlight, near the Thai border. Loads of "trekking" to find women growing, weaving, dying with indigo (that denim blue colour), one of my special interests. You must have got a special permit for north, good going! We were terribly correct when we first got there, "Myanmar" plus our basic Burmese, but by the end we realized it's a very fluid country in so many ways. Delightful. Gorgeous, hard working, hospitable people. Lovely culture, diverse and ancient. Anyhoo, onwards and upwards to you both (and up and down and up and down and along you go!). I hope you continue to enjoy your amazing adventure. All the best. Ngaire xxx PS. Here are the most useful word and phrase, I reckon, written as spoken for Myanmar. You may already know this. Thanks ="Jay-zu" think of jesus as the it is sometimes sung, as in "Jay-zu King of lalalala". It's somewhere between Jay-zu and Yay-zu . hello = "Mingle la bar" think mingle( in) la bar.
