Everyone's comments certainly help with both the trials of travel and also trials of knowing this adventure will one day end but that we have a world to continue to look forward to. See you in Sydney. X

Thanks for all of the support. We are very very happy, just angry at the sexism EVERY WHERE and like women everywhere just learning how to cope as we move forward. We are continuing to meet wonderful people willing to help , great kindness and experience a wonderful world becoming smaller by the day. X

What a horrible experience! I have to say, after years of reading travel books and biogs, I have even managed to read a few about exactly what you are up against. If my memory serves me correctly, The Trick is to ask to sleep at a families' place, like a tea room, restaurant, inside a home, farm...definitely with women, and even better children, involved. People in your region are bound by hospitality to even move out of their quarters so you can sleep (I remember 2 cyclists realizing the family was sleeping on the tables of their own cafe downstairs so the cyclists could have their room). I am sending you forgetful vibes to dull that lousy memory, and I hope the road ahead is smoother in every way.... I'm not surprised your joints are taking a hit from the photo of Li "on the road"... How about a couple of horses with a couple more pack animals to carry the bikes until the roads improve? I met 2 women setting off from Kings Cross to ride to Melbourne, totally loaded like you. I told them about you 2.... they were well impressed "Oooo, that's nearly impossible!" in cute thick accents.
